Galen nodded. "We'll keep you safe, then get somewhere to talk."
A teenaged girl dressed all in black, looked like a velvet shirt and pants, black sneakers, long black hair. Her face was set and serious but there was a wildness to her eyes and there was almost a feeling to her, like you'd almost expect to see a tail lashing behind her.
"Why didn't you go with them?" she demanded.
"Backup. I have your back if this gets hairy," he said flatly.
"We don't have time to fight, but we will have this out later. I don't need protecting, I'm expendable," she snapped.
"As much as I am. Let's just get to work," he said. "Who IDed the slayer as a slayer?"
"Faiyth," she said, flatly. "Saw it over the feed and called it in just after I noticed Ash."
"And she's hunting him? For sure?" he asked.
"Not for sure, but we have to stop the mall from becoming a bloodbath."
He nodded. "Agreed."
"And her?"
"She'll stay close, we'll keep her safe."
"We will?"
"You will," he said firmly. "I trust in you."
She growled. "Let's just haul Ash out of here." She pivoted on her heel and stalked off another way. Galen grinned and followed.
"We'll see," Keller snapped. "Now hush, we're almost to him."
"He's actually calling for help?"
Keller snorted. "The Goddess would rot first. I'm tracking his scent."
She turned down an aisle just as a very handsome looking guy - major vampire vibes up close, but.. different. The way James was different. Also his eyes keep changing colour, they start out a dark smoldering brown, but always as they change there is the same hint of silver James' eyes had. Poppy also had the silver.
"Watch where you're going," he hissed.
Keller grabbed his arm and shoved him back at Galen.
"HEY!" he cried, shocked as his eyes went almost gold and silver.
Galen grabbed him and started marching him back the way they came.
"I am capable of walking on my own," he snapped, but he was going with without much struggle, eyes turning dark green as they narrowed.
"Yes, and getting yourself killed. We have a car waiting," Keller said, walking backwards bringing up the rear. "Move faster."
"Fine, only because if you get killed instead of me, there is one less pain in my neck hanging around," he pulled free and started walking alongside Galen instead of being pulled along. He looked at Buffy, eyes going a sweet blue. For a moment he managed to look charming. "And who are you? A princess who needs rescuing from these ruffians?"
"Remind me why we're keeping you alive," Keller growled. "And move faster. We're leaving via Penny's. You got that?"
Something about those eyes has her... wary as hell, to put it even a little politely. She finds herself taking just half a step back, eyes taking this guy in. Okay, so he's pretty, but something about him is putting her on edge.
"I'm someone who doesn't want the end of the world."
Seemed to be a better statement than letting on who she actually was. She was still weirdly offended none of them seemed to realised she was the Slayer that had them all on alert. Like, she wasn't expecting a parade or anything, but a bit of recognition?
Do the forces of darkness even appreciate all the work she puts into her well thought out puns in the heat of battle?

Buffy isn't sure if she should be offended or not. Dracula knew who she was! She's a big deal.
But then again it they knew, she wouldn't be as close as she is.
"So where are we going?"

"You happen to be a Daybreaker," Galen said, flatly.
He snorted. "You have my soulmate, what am I supposed to be?"
"Smarter," Keller snapped. "And at the moment, quiet."
