A bright smile. "Gee, thanks! I appreciate it. We're almost there," she said, pulling off the highway.

"Guessing you're going to want to get out fast when we get there?"

"Yeah, how much am I going to owe you?"

"First red light we stop at I'll check that for you. Wanted to make sure that's how you wanted me to play it."

"You did a good thing, checking."

"Gee! Thanks!" They hit a light and she dug around in the bag pressed between her and the door on her side. "Gimmie your credit card and ID?"

Buffy hands them over, keeping an eye on their surroundings.

She pulls a small scanner device into her lap, sets them in and closes the lid, then starts driving agin as the light changes. "this may take a few lights at this rate," she said with a kind of aggravated forced cheer.

There's a wince.

"Sorry about that."

"It's fine, whatever I have to do for good ti... I mean for a good ride experience!" She beamed a smile as she changed lanes carefully.

"You'll get a really good tip."

It was the very least she could do.

"Thanks! She'll be thrilled!" she said. At the next light she flipped both cards over and set the machine to run again.

"She? Your boss?"

She can't help but be curious.

"What? Oh no...My friend. Usually she would be making teddy bears and selling them for charity about now, but she is kinda grounded. So I told her anything I made playing taxi driver today I'll donate to the charity of her choice," she said brightly.

"That's a really nice thing," she says. "What got your friend started on that?"

"She's just a pure soul like that. She's been doing it since before I met her."

Buffy couldn't help it. Hearing about someone like that just made her smile widen.

"Seriously, that is so sweet."

"She is," she's started to gush, then coughed. "Anyway, sorry about babbling at you like that, we are almost there."
